Organization, Army of the Southwest, 14 July 1862
In Response To: Alexander Papers ()

On July 14, 1862, Albert Rust sent a telegram to Thomas Hindman and informed Hindman of his actions to stop desertion among his men. Rust met with his officers and was assured there would be no further problems of insubordination. BUT!

It appears that some one, possibly Hindman, used the back of this Telegram as scratch paper to outline the organization of the Army that Hindman was attempting to assemble.

If you rotate the image of the second page of the telegram clockwise, you will see the task organization. It appears that Hindman was out lining his plans for two divisions, of two brigades each, and their accompanying artillery batteries.
