In Response To: Louden's Battalion ()

Phil -- I don't have any information on Louden's emergency battalion, but en route to the battle of Pea Ridge, Col. Dandridge McRae's regiment (21st Arkansas, later 15th Northwest Arkansas) picked up an "emergency" company commanded by Capt. Cyrus Leonidas Pickens. The muster roll for this temporary company indicates that the men were mustered into service at Camp Boston Mountain on February 23, 1862, by Lieut. Squire Boone, of McRae's regiment.

The soldiers' muster roll entries state "emergency man enlisted for thirty days unless sooner discharged, by order of Col. Hebert, commanding brigade, attached to Col. McRae’s regiment."
