Sharp County was organized after the war, but the following companies have been definitely identified as being organized in what later became Sharp County:
Co. B,E,F,G, 1st Arkansas Regiment Volunteers (30-Day).
Co. D, 5th Arkansas Regiment Cavalry.
Co.F, 14th (McCarver's) Arkansas Regiment Infantry.
Co. I, 14th (McCarver's) Arkansas Regiment Infantry.
Co. F, 38th Arkansas Regiment Infantry.
The U.S. Army did not recruit on a company/county basis in Arkansas. They recruited "at large".
