Thank you for sharing the details of your research process. I imagine that similar to Goodspeed's Civil War information on Saline County, their account of Union County also contains inaccuracies. Sadly, Goodspeed's section on Union County is one of the few available sources on the county's history even today. The limited amount of published history on Union County seems to center around the county's oil boom in the 1920s.

How long did it take you to come up with your count of soldiers?
