Yes, I also did most of what you mentioned. I was trying to not get too deep yet in order to keep down confusion. I tracked them in all counties and with Heritage quest I could easily search the entire nation. Findagrave is also now a great search engine as well. I made sure and listed all units for this who served in more than one. Ark had many men in regts east of the Miss R who came home after woundin, captured etc and served again. I too used Confederate Home records as well as names from UCV camps and Southern Cross of Honor applications. And as you say, even finding proof of another now is a big deal. Also are those men who volunteered with a Tx or Mo unit here in the county or were conscripted by them. Its a never ending mystery to solve.
