When did Witt become the commander of the 10th? I keep finding Ltc E.L. Vaughan as the commander at Port Hudson, but I though Witt was elected to follow Merrick in the general reorganization of May 1862? I know Witt was in command when they reorganized a cavalry following their exchange after Port Hudson.
