Can someone tell me which route Gen. Steele took after the battle of Jenkins Ferry? The Heritage Trail shows it to be Jenkins Ferry to Sheridan to East End up Hwy. 367 (Arch St.) into Little Rock. I have found several sources that say the Federal Army traveled on the Benton Road. I found a map dating 1866 that Steele's army went more west of Little Rock entering from that area (around I-30). Anyone know for sure which direction was taken? Thanks for any response.
