I remember grandma talking about William Rufus Holland being kidnapped in front of his home (he was playing on the hitching post) in Georgia. I think his dad might have been a banker. The kidnappers took him to Indian Territory and he held their horses for them while they stole horses from the Indians.
I have heard two different stories how he died. He was in his buggy and someone shot him. I heard it was a hunting accident I also heard that he was in his buggy and died from a heart attack. I think in this story that i sent he was robbed. The lady that sent it to the publishers is a cousin of mom's and your dad. She lived in Wyneewood (?). She and mom sent letters to each other before my mom died.

I found this information online: I think it is by the Indian turnpike. It used to be by where they lived. I hope this help you. g.
