The following is excerpted from the 02 Apr 1864 report of Lieutenant G. Young and Lieutenant F.M. Greathouse: “When we came to the fork of Long View and Camden road, which is some 2 miles from Long View, we took 4 prisoners, and learned from them that there had been a train of nine wagons and 25 men passed out a short time ahead of us.”
I wonder if the four captives referred to might have been the infantrymen. Appreciate any input.
