These are the only Lawhon's I find in Arkansas Confederate units. I find neither in the 1860 Arkansas census.

C S. Lawhon, age 40, Private/Conscript, Carton's Battalion Arkansas Cavalry, deserted October 19, 1864, subscribed to an Oath of Allegiance to the United States November 19, 1864, resident of Bolin??, Jefferson County, Arkansas, Fair Complexion, Dark Hair. Hazel Eyes, 5' 10"

............

J W. Lawhon, age 33, enlisted as a 4th Corporal in Company I, Glenn's Regiment, Arkansas Infantry* June 18, 1862 at Springfield, deserted August 25, 1863, no further records

* This regiment was designated at various times as McRae's Regiment, Arkansas Infantry and Davie's Regiment Arkansas Infantry; and at the same time it was also known as 2nd Regiment Trans-Mississippi Infantry, 28th Regiment Arkansas Infantry, and 36th Regiment Arkansas Infantry
