Thanks, Alan. This (Marengo) George Douglas' father-in-law had a son, two grandsons, and a son-in-law in the First Alabama Cavalry US, and an older son shot dead in his own front yard by a C.S. conscription squad. But he (the father-in-law) also had a grandson in C.S. service as well. Just trying to confirm or deny any other possibilities of C.S. enlistment, particularly with this George Douglas who died prior to 1865, and his family having moved to Walker County by then.
