Arnold; on muster roll from 15 to 31 Oct 1861; muster roll for 9 Nov 1861 reported he was at Camp Bradford near Huntsville; regimental return for Jun 1862 reported he was sick in the hospital at Columbus or Enterprise, Mississippi; regimental return for Aug and Nov 1862 reported he was absent with leave; regimental return for Oct 1862 reported he was absent without leave; recorded as a deserter Nov 1862, residence: Blount County; received a 30 day furlough from Atlanta 28 Apr 1863; no further record.

The 1850 Blount County Federal Census recorded Clark Brown was born in Alabama about 1832; Martha was born in Alabama about 1829.

The 1860 Blount County Federal Census recorded Clark Brown was born in Alabama about 1832; Martha was born in Alabama about 1828.

The 1862 Blount County Confederate "Census" recorded: 27 years old; Martha, wife, 27 years old; Jonathan, son, 10 years old; Jesse, son, 8 years old; girl, 2 years old; James T., 1 year old; have no corn; no pork; no salt; in Captain Arnold’s Company, November 1, 1861; Beat No. 9; $50.00

Clark’s brother, James Brown, wrote in his 1871 Southern Claims Commission report his brother Clark moved to Arkansas and “died there since the war.”

Arnold; on muster roll from 15 to 31 Oct 1861; muster roll for 9 Nov 1861 reported he was at Camp Bradford near Huntsville; regimental return for Jun 1862 reported he was sick in the hospital at Columbus or Enterprise, Mississippi; regimental return for Aug and Oct 1862 reported he was sick at Pikeville, Tennessee; regimental return for Nov 1862 reported he was at LaGrange, Tennessee; captured in Kentucky in the Fall of 1862 and exchanged 23 Jan 1863; died at Bell Hospital in Greensboro, Georgia 19 Mar 1864.

Jeremiah B. Brown first married Martha; he second married Phoebe Martha Murphree on 23 Jan 1853 in Blount County (Volume D, Page 418).

The 1850 Blount County Federal Census recorded Jeremiah Brown was born in Tennessee about 1826; Martha was born in Tennessee about 1830.

The 1860 Blount County Federal Census recorded Jere Brown was born in Tennessee about 1824; Martha was born in Alabama about 1836.

The 1862 Blount County Confederate "Census" recorded: 37 years old; Phoebe, wife, 27 years old; Mary, daughter, 8 years old; Benson, son, 6 years old; Enoch, son, 4 years old; Paribe, daughter, 2 years old; have 150 bushels corn; 750 pounds pork; has salt; in Captain Arnold’s Company, November 1, 1861; Beat No. 9

The 1880 Blount County Federal Census recorded Pheba Brown was a widow born in Alabama about 1835.

On her Confederate widow’s pension application, Phoebe reported her husband died 31 Mar 1864; application witnesses included S.M. Hendricks and M.A. Jones, both of Blount County; pension was approved.

Her monument in the Hood Cemetery recorded Phoebe Brown was born 13 Oct 1835 and died 12 Sep 1899.
