Source of info: THE HERITAGE OF BLOUNT COUNTY ALABAMA (1999 edition) pp 133-4. Correspondence between Jeremiah B Brown and his 2nd wife, Phebe M Murphree Brown still exists along with other family letters. Apparently Phebe received word from another Blount Co AL soldier that her husband was very ill in Bell Hosp. She enlisted the aid of Jerry's brother and sister-in-law to take her to see him, but on the way through bad roads, troop movements-both Confederate & Union, she received word of Jeremiah's death. The Greensboro GA location came from info published by a direct descendant of Phebe & Jerry, not my personal research
