Where did you obtain the intelligence that he died in Greensboro, Ga.? There was according to the Stout Papers a Bell Hospital also at Rome, Ga.?

Unfortunatly, there are no company muster rolls surviving to be incorporated in the records leaving very little information on these men.

Jerre B. Brown, age 37, 2nd Sergeant, Capt. Arnold's Company, Battalion Alabama Volunteers,* enlisted October 15, 1861 at Summit for 3 years, Oct. 31, 1861 Present, 1862 Regimental Return, Sick, sent to Hospital at Columbus or Enterprise, Miss., Aug. 1862 RR, Absent Sick Pikeville, Tenn., Oct. 1862 RR Absent Pikeville, Tenn., Nov. 1862 RR Absent LaGrange, Tenn., captured in Kentucky Sept-Nov., 1862, paroled and placed in camp at Chattanooga, Tenn., declared exchanged January 11, 1863, died at Bell Hospital, Georgia March 31, 1864, no other records

Note: Have no idea where he was captured or imprisoned

* This company was designated at various times as Capt. Arnold's Company Battalion Alabama Vols.; Company E, Battalion Alabama Vols.; Company D, 26th Regiment (Coltart's) Alabama Infantry; and Company D, 50th Alabama Infantry

Brown, age 30, Private, Company D, 50th Alabama Infantry, enlisted October 15, 1861 at Summit for 3 years, June 1862 RR, Sick, sent to Hospital at Columbus or Enterprise, Miss., granted 30 day furlough April 28, 1863 at Com [sp?] Post, Atlanta, resident of Blount County, Ala., no further records
