The same must be true then regarding Camp Halls Mill near Mobile. It appears this campsite was either on, or very near, a land grant area. Of course there were numerous campsites here and they would have been somewhat spread out I imagine.
Just curious to know who actually selected and approved the sites. It it was the governor of Alabama, it seems there would be a good record of the area selected. Maybe by township, range and sections. We may never know huh?
