Lynn --

The 11th Alabama Cavalry served under General Roddey's command. If I'm not mistaken, at the time of the fighting at Franklin TN, most of this regiment was in the Tuscumbia-Corinth MS area. On Dec 23, 1864, that part of Roddey's command posted along the Madison-Jackson County line in Alabama was routed at Indian Creek, between Huntsville and Madison Station.

Again, if I'm not mistaken, during the retreat the rest of Roddey's command was assigned to guard Hood's wagon train. They were routed in Franklin County along the Mississippi line by the small Federal command that fought at Indian Creek. A vivid Confederate account of Hood's wagon train being destroyed can be located for you.
