It has been awhile since I have been on this website...so just getting your post. I have done alot of research on the ISbell Line, which we are decended, and take alot of pride in the role the Isbell's took during the revolution, and Zachariah Isbell's sacrafice during the Civil war. I have copies of Zachariah's servioce records. It shows him as a private and a coporal. It shows him captured, Sept. 26, 1863 at Hunt's Mill. He was 28 when he enlisted, on Aug. 28th, 1863. In Larkinsville, Ala, for 1 year. looks like he was admitted to Richmond Hospital 21 on Oct. 14, 1863 and died Nov. 4th, 1863 of chronic diarrea. It shows him 6 ft. 1 inches tall, fair complexion blue eyes and light hair. it lists him as a farmer.
