The James M. Davis I have, enlisted in Pickens County, June 11, 1861. His Confederate Service Card lists his age as 21, and a resident of Gordo. He was killed at Salem Church on May 3, 1863, and has this written of him, "Killed while gallantly bearing the colors." He is listed as a private throughout his service record.
