Still no Alabama pension and no CSA military record under that name. For that matter, no census record either. There was an Allen C. Williams who served in Co. "H", 27th Alabama, but he was captured at Fort Donelson and survived as far as I can tell. The only census record that's close in Blount County shows Allen F. Williams, age 60, and wife Rachel (or Rebecca?), age 50. They have a son named Allen who is age 12 and a son named Daniel who is 18 and an idiot.

I looked at all the Williams households in Blount County (1860) and found nothing else. All I can say for sure is that the Fort Henry story is a red herring, and I feel like Elmer Fudd on one of his "wabbit" hunting fiascos. Perhaps someone else can sort this out.
