Neil McClanahan

I'm trying to determine what regiment John D McClanahan of Morgan County was in. Per our oral family history, he was in Forrest's Cavalry. From what I can find out, that makes it likely he was in the 4th or 5th AL Cavalry.

John later became a preacher and was the oldest Confederate veteran at the time of his death in 1944. After the war, he returned to his hometown of Hartselle.
