So, after two days of claiming that there is truth to the
story you heard about the Confederate flags in Illinois;
the only ones you have turned up so far, are the ones I told you about at the very beginning of this discussion. What
happened to the "eye witness"??? Where did the flags "strewn" on the floor at the Illinois State Archives go to?????
There are two major collections of Confederate flags in the
State of Illinois. The Chicago Historical Society holds 34.
The National Guard Museum at Springfield holds 10. There
may be others in private collections, but I can assure you that there are no other "forgotten" storage buildings
at the Illinois State Archives. In fact, the State Adjutant
General's Office maintains ALL state-owned flags in Illinois
