44 flags!?

Thanks for your support George. That is exactly what I intend, too. I do not mean to insult anyone. All I ever want in research is the truth. All to often egos get in the way of truth (not to say that is the case for you, Ken). Other times people simply refuse to re-examine the evidence, and say that any discrepancies found in previous examinations are the absolute truth and anything else is "revisionist history"...as if that was something derogative.

Now, back to the issue at hand...Ken, are you saying that the State of Illinois has 44 Confederate flags?!

"There are two major collections of Confederate flags in the
State of Illinois. The Chicago Historical Society holds 34.
The National Guard Museum at Springfield holds 10."

Did I understand that correctly? Combine that with the many Union battle flags that Illinois has, and you've got plenty to support what the witness saw. He saw this sometime back...I don't know how long ago, possibly before they were pulled out of storage. The Illinois flag site own admissions to how the Illinois battle flags were neglected strongly tends to support this possibility.

What do you mean "what happened to the eyewitness"? He still has the same standing as he always had.

What do you mean "Where did the flags "strewn" on the floor at the Illinois State Archives go to?" I already addressed that yesterday back at the top of this thread.

What are the other Confederate 34 flags?!
