The 3rd Alabama Cavalry flag in Chicago is a St.Andrew's
Cross type flag. This design was not adopted for use by
the Confederate Army until Nov.-Dec. 1861. The early war
company presentation flags were always some variant of the
Confederate first national, State flag or unique design of
