Yes he did, saw it through to the end.....paroled at Greensboro, North Carolina 1865. He married after the war. I agree with you. The more I read, the more I also wonder how he survived, especially the battles around Atlanta and Franklin. His future father-n-law was captured at Franklin and sent to Camp Douglas and he also amazingly survived that horrible place.
