My great-great grandfather John B. Morgan lived in Cherokee Cty., AL. He is supposed to have died in 1863 tho we have no knowledge of where or exactly when. He is supposed to have been born around 1824 so he would have been about 39 or 40 when he died. I am assuming (because of these facts) that he died in the War; but I have no knowledge of which side or where. Did Cherokee Cty. have a unit of their own?
