James H. GaddyLookup?Tue Feb 27 23:58:35 2001 I am looking for information on my GG-grandfather, Hardy S. Gaddy. The problem is I do not know what regiment he was with or if he was in the Civil War at all. What I do know is he was born July 29, 1815; he has a military tombstone that states he was a Private US Army, Indian Wars. He lived in Randolph County AL from 1860 to 1866 and by 1880 was in Walker County AL where he is buried. ( Gaddy Cemetery)His tombstone doesn't have his regiment. That leads me to believe he was not in the Civil War. Or am I wrong to assume that? I have been told that his wife , Nancy Malinda received a pension from his service but I have no proof. All clues say he served his country after he married Nancy about 1856. His age would have been a factor or was in normal for a man in his forties to serve his country? Is there someway I can find Hardy S. Gaddy records or regiment? Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. I am really tired of looking thur regiment list for him. Thanks,James H. GaddyIndian Wars Hayes Lowe, Wed Feb 28 08:54 Hardy S.
