Any one have any idea why an officer would not be exchanged
with his regiment. Brewer's has Capt. R. Hopson Pratt Co. D 20th Ala Inf captured at Port Gibson and held until the end of the War. The rest of this regiment was surrendered at Vicksburg then exchanged. Why was this officer singled out?
