I do not know of a book about the 50th alabama. I wish
someone would write one since I have about 10 ancestors
in this unit. Since three of the companies were mostly from
Limestone county, there are a lot of little stories and soldiers accounts that are printed in various local limestone
county historical books. For more information you can
contact the Limestone county archives. The archives in
limestone county is pretty good. Most of what I have seen
are individual accounts of different limestone countians
in various old newspaper articles and historical papers.
There was a soldier Liberty Independence Nixon of the
50th that kept a diary. His descendent lives in the Clements community and still has his diary. I do not know much about Co. A though. Why doesn't someone out there write a history about them and I'll send what information I have to them.
