Alan J. PittsDulin deathsThu Feb 8 23:08:44 2001 Martin V. Dulin, enlisted in Co. "B", 28th Ala. Inf. Regt.Members came from Blount and Marshall Counties and called their company the "Walthall Confederates”. The captain of this company was John H. Turpin, later wounded and disabled at Murfreesboro, Tennessee, December 31, 1862. Members mustered in Confederate service at Murphree’s Crossroads, Alabama, February 4, 1862. They left for Shelby Springs, Alabama, February 24, 1862, and arrived on February 28, 1862. Martin v. Dulin, apparently wounded at Murfreesboro, Tenn., Dec. 31, 1862, fell into Federal hands when the Confederates evacuated the town. He died of gunshot wounds at Murfreesboro on February 8, 1863.William Benjamin Dulin enlisted in Co. "C", 48th Ala. Inf. Regt. of Marshall County, the “Mountain Rangers”. This company mustered at Warrenton, Alabama, April 7, 1862.His captain's name was William S. Walker. Dulin died of typhoid fever at Staunton, Va., July 27, 1862.
