Thank you very much for the information, Alan.

Last year I exchanged correspondence with Tod Molesworth, who said he was historian for the 26th Alabama. I was trying to get some information on another relative, Private George H. Garmon of the Alabama 26th-50th, who was killed in the Battle of Chickamauga. Mr. Moles claimed to have information which showed the "hospital records" for the 26th-50th. (George H. Garmon was apparently hospitalized from June to November 1862, account "sick", part of the time in Enterprise, MS and part of the time at LaGrange, TN.) He said he would take a closer look at his file when he got the chance, but I haven't heard from him in almost a year. Would you know if such "hospital records" exist and, if so, where I can research them to determine what kind of sickness my Private George H. Garmon was hospitalized with? It appears that he was hospitalized shortly after the Battle of Shiloh, so it could have been any one of several kind of illnesses that were prevalent around Corinth, MS, at that time. Any information or suggestions you could give me would be very much appreciated.
