Can someone help me find information on the 11th Alabama Cavalry? My gr grandfather, James Alexander Tucker, Sr. was a member of Company K, with Commander Burtwell and Captain Doan. Another question: Why did he enlist in this regiment when he lived in Tishomingo Co., MS and most of his immediate (and allied)family were in the 26th Mississippi? Some have inferred that I have my information wrong because they have never been able to find a reference to the 11th Alabama Cavalry. His cemetery marker and his pension application both have this same information, so I thought I could assume this information was correct. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
