cowdog11th alabamaSat Sep 23 17:16:34 2000 Yes, it is very possible he was in the 11th alabama andwas from tish. co. MISS. I have a couple of rosters of 2 companies that were from around Limestone county. However, I know of a company from Lawrence county,Alabama. It is likely many men may have been from counties bordering Miss. The 11th fell under the commandof Gen. Roddy who was from Florence, Alabama and hismen regularly went into MISS. There is also another possibility. You did not give his date of enlistment.Nathan B. Forrest cavalry fought at the battle of Tishimingo Creek(Brices' xroads). Roddys cavalry showedup right in the midst of the fighting to help finish the battle. It is possible he was recruited or joined up around the time of this battle.DeWayne Scott
