Vivian Eakes Hull17th AlabamaMon Jan 1 08:39:00 2001 Do you know the date that your grandfather was captured at Peachtree? My great grandfather's records say he was fighting in the 17th Alabama and he died of gunshot and amputation "near Georgia" on August 4, 1864. I am trying to determine if that was likely the battle at Peachtree? and where he might have been buried. He was William Banister. His son David BANISTER was captured at Kennesaw Mtn. and spent the remainder of the war at Camp Morton. Interestingly David Banister wound up many years later in Tennessee and I have a number of EDDINS relatives in Wilson County TN where he was.. I wonder if there is any connection to your Eddins??17th Alabama Kevin Dean Miller, Tue Jan 2 09:58 Banister - 17th ALA Vivian Eakes Hull, Tue Jan 2 10:58 17th ALABAMA - BANISTERs Vivian Eakes Hull, Tue Jan 2 10:55 17th alabama Kevin Miller, Tue Jan 2 11:34
