Found this photograph of two confederate soldiers Stg Austin Morris 26th Virginia infantry and 1st Stg Richard A. Williams of Richmond. one in a classic gray confederate uniform with Stg. stripes and two infantry lines going down the legs of the pants.
But this is where it gets strange the other soldier is wareing what looks like a blue uniform with sky blue pants and dark infantry lines going down the side of his pants.
He also has Stg stripes but above the stripes there is a dimond which indicates he is a 1st Stg.
Can you explain why this is to me?
The gray uniform looks like a type 2 or type 1 shell jacket.
