I went to this site as Geo. Martin suggested. I truly didn't know this service was available not sure how I missed it. I have a couple of Union soldiers in the family whom I haven't gotten around to as yet but will order their records from here when I get there. For my other confederate relatives I ordered their records a couple year ago from the VA and AR. Archives. My question is that for my Thomas B. Malone who was in the 20 VA Inf and the 9th VA Cav. Regt, I only received 4 muster cards for him and on one of them it said "also see 20th Inf." but no cards for the 20th. Geo. was kind enough to look up the 20th Inf info for me. At this point I wonder if I have the Military Record Search Service do a search for me, should I get more than four muster cards, one of which shows his place of death as Markham Sta., VA.?? From reading the site info it sounds like there may be more info available on my Thomas. Any comments or suggestions??
