This is very interesting.

He was wounded in Rosser's attack on James H. Wilson's Union Cavalry division along the Catharpin Road. Rosser routed Wilson and wasn't stopped until a fresh Union brigade from another division came up.

You ought to check out the book Riding With Rosser, Gordon Rhea's book on the battle of the Wilderness, and Edwin Steere's book, The Wilderness Campaign.
