Re: 25th North Carolina Burial Place

John,

Is it possible for you to check your records for any Wiggintons (many numerous spellings - Wiggington, Wigington, Wiginton, etc.) at Oakwood Cemetery? I am researching all Wiggintons (over 140 men) who fought in the Civil War and I have some that died in Richmond but haven't found their burials. These include: Ancil Roe W., 60th GA Infantry, died 7/26/64 of typhoid in Richmond; George F. (or G.A.) W., 1st SC Rifles, died 4/21/64 at Jackson Hospital, Richmond of pneumonia; Robert J. W., 11th VA Infantry, died 8/10/62 of typhoid (had been in hospital at Richmond at one point but don't know that he died in Richmond). These are the ones that I have some information on indicating that they died in Richmond. There may be others. I have been in contact with Mabel at Hollywood and she helped me locate two of my soldiers who are buried there. I really appreciate it if you are able to check your records. Thanks! Kerry
