"White's Comanches" is the 35th Virginia Cavalry Battalion, not the 41st. Both units were commanded by men named
"White", the 35th was Elijah White and the 41st was Robert White. My wife's gg-granduncle, Thomas N. Torreyson, was the Color Sergeant for the 35th Virginia Cavalry Battalion and lost a leg at the battle of the Wilderness fighting Custer's Michiganders.
