Since posting this message, I was able to find out that Pvt. Hardy was buried in a mass grave at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper according to Robert A. Hodge's book Death Roster of Confederate General Hospital at Culpeper (1977). Hardy's name is supposedly listed on a monument marking the location of this grave.
