John J. Patteson was born in Va. about 1833/34. I have found him in both 1850 and 1860 censuses of Buckingham Co. I have not found him after that. He would have been about 28 when the war started and a prime candidate for service. I feel there is a good chance he lost his life in the service. Does anybody have info on him? There are several variations of the spelling of his last name with the most prominent being Patterson and Pattison.
