Captain Russell Milehams Company, Virginia Infantry (mustered Sept 1861; 12 month enlistment)
Had previously served designated as Co.C; 21st Va Infantry Battalion, aka: Pound Gap Battalion. On reorganization in early 1862 many of the battalion declined to reenlist. Those of Milehams Company served as an independent company till it was disbanded at expiration of enlistment approx. Sept 1862. Some of these folks later joined other commands.

27th Virginia Cavalry Battalion; Company-I ("Lee Rangers") mustered in Sept 1862; Lee County Va
with addition of other companies to this battalion it was reorganized and designated as the 25th Virginia Cavalry Regiment. The "Lee Rangers" became Co.I of the 25th Virginia Cavalry.

Listed on roll of Prisoners of War paroled on April 26th 1865 at Cumberland Gap KY by Colonel William Dillard; 34th KY Infantry (US). Notated remarks "Lee County Va"

Apparently picked up by US forces in Lee County, at some point in time and held as POW then paroled/released at the end of the war in KY. No indication existing of wounding and appears to have survived the war.
