Union equipment in the ANV was very common as the war progressed. The CS quartermaster would receive collected equipment from the battle fields, repair it if necessary and reissue it to the army.

It will be very difficult to find a reproduction wooden canteen. I am not aware of any one making them at this time and I have never seen the Nash canteen pattern duplicated.
