Sorry. The soldiers name was Anthony Moser Hestand who went mostly by AM. He was from Grayson Co TX about 26 yrs of age in 1861 and a farmer. All I can find on his service is this application for a pension. To me the whole thing isn't jelling. I can find info on the 31st TX Cav, Generals Gano and Maxey but not all in the same "sentence." I find Gano with the Arizona Brigade and Maxey with the infantry. Any help in sorting this out would be mush appreciated.
