This is awesome. It helps me understand so much. You make it so much easier for me to visualize. It gets too technical on websites and etc. Now that you explained about the rifle - (never knew) I understand a civil war special on rifles I watched last week. (Colorize items). The special gave an illustrated and animated rifle firing off a ball. Now I understand what it was they were portraying.
I know this took some time out of your schedule and I appreciate it. As I mentioned, I am a sponge for this sort of information.
And to think, all the men and "boys" fighting with their father's or grandfather's guns and rifles, old and modified. OMG. How would they survive?
And with the rifling interior of the barrel allow better aim and harsher hits, the injuries were horrible. I will wait awhile to give you a breather. but in a couple of weeks, I would love to learn just a little about the cannons. There were so many. I am reading up on them...sizing and etc is difficult to understand - but the potential damage from bigger guns is obvious.
