Hello, Carrie Muniz.

Always great to here from a descendant of Dan Showalter! I'd love to find out which of his siblings or half-siblings you descend from, so will try to find your info on Ancestry.

I'm fine with including whatever was of use to you on your family tree. There are a few things discovered during the course of further research for the book that shed new light or, maybe in one case as I recall, contradict some of my earlier research -- but by and large, the last several years spent in researching this most interesting person first for the Drum Barracks Museum exhibit and then for the book have been an incredibly rich experience.

We (co-author Gene Armistead and I) do not yet have a publication date for the book. It is presently under submission with a great publisher and we are hopeful of the outcome. We most likely, based on their usual time frame, will hear more by the end of this month, or perhaps early into 2015 given that it is the holiday season. But if for some reason this publisher does not wish to include our work in theirs, we will determinedly continue to submit to as many publishers as it may take. I will periodically keep news on the publication trial updated on the blog site (http://caarchrebel.blogspot.com).

I'm pleased that our work was of interest to you and thank you for the great compliment of your including some of it in your family tree.

Bob Arconti
