Re: Waul's Texas Legion - Willis Battalion, Compan

There is no Gonzales in Carroll County Mississippi. I grew up in nearby Greenwood, spent much of my time in Carrroll County and still own land in there.

I figure that while he was born in Carroll County, he probably lived in Gonzales Texas when he enlisted.

Does the location of Gonzales Texas correspond with areas that men in his company of Waul's Legion were living at the time of enlistment?

FWIW, T. N. Waul practiced law in the area of Carroll County before the war. I think he had a law office in nearby Grenada. I remember seeing a period newspaper that mentioned him. Could that be a connection with Parsons ??

And coincidentally Greenwood is the site of Fort Pemberton, where Waul's Legion was stationed from mid February to early May 1863.
