Lt. Thomas Jefferson Bassett

I am trying to locate a Lt. Thomas Jefferson Bassett. I ran across him in a diary entry written by Lucy G. Breckinridge, of SW Virginia. She met Lt. Bassett, Oct. 26, 1863, when he was in command of 80 cavalrymen and 200-300 horses that were being "fattened" up on the Breckinridge estate, Grove Hill, near Fincastle, Bontetourt Co., VA. He and Miss Breckinridge were married on Jan. 28, 1865 and she died of typhoid fever less than six months later, June 16, 1865. According to a footnote in the published diary, Thomas Bassett returned to his homestate of Texas after his wife's death.
