Patti,

Since all I have is the pension record, unit information is sparse. There is no listing of a captain. Uncle Tom was a prolific story teller and several of his nephews and neices are still alive, but they are old and feeble now. My mother told me that Tom would tell stories about traveling out West, but I do not know if any were War stories.

The pension application mentions two witnesses who swear they served with Tom Seamans in the same company. I never thought to look up their military records. Their names are J.J. Barnes and J.W. McQueen. All of these men came from pioneer families in Tyler County and I reckon their word would be very credible.
