First find out what counties composed the 19th Texas Militia Brigade. I have the Texas Militia Brigades listed on web page:

I study seven (7) militia brigades that covers 34 Texas counties including Johnson County which was in the 20th Militia Brigade. Please post where this Johnson M. James was found in the 1850 and 1860 U.S. censuses.
