Ray,

A friend and neighbor of mine is a great niece of Captain Ike Turner. And her mother, who is still living, is a grand niece. They attended his re-burial ceremony in Livingston, Texas with other family members. My gg-uncle was Captain Sam Willson of Co. F, 1st Texas. He was a contemporary of Ike Turner and no doubt knew him.

Below is a link describing the ceremony for Captain Turner.

There must be a whole bunch of Co. K descendants in Polk and Tyler Counties. Bet you could find some if you placed an ad in the Livingston newspaper. If you are looking for more information about Co. K, a good book would be "Reminences of the Civil War", 1902 by John W. Stevens. He became a Methodist preacher in Livingston after the Late Unpleasantness. Perhaps you have already read this book.
